Storyline:
Wang Ta-khian village is the setting of this captivating tale. It revolves around Phraethong, a beautiful woman who eloped with her beloved Muen Khiri. Their union was forced upon her by her mother, Phloeng. However, Phraethong’s love for Muen Khiri was unwavering, and she pursued them relentlessly. In a fit of rage, she ultimately killed Muen Khiri. Witnessing her lover’s demise, Phraethong succumbed to despair and took her own life. Tragically, the two lovers were buried together beneath a Ta-khian tree.
Centuries passed, and Phraethong’s spirit remained trapped in the cycle of rebirth. Unable to move on due to her suicide, she transformed into Mae Ya Wang Ta-khian, an entity revered by the villagers. Her purpose was now to wait patiently for the day she would reunite with her beloved Muen Khiri.
